A letter from me
Typewritten reflections on life at the château, the season I am in, and the thoughts I would share across a table with a friend.
Château Letters
A monthly letter from Le Demi-Château
Personal reflections, a vegan French-inspired recipe, and seasonal pieces of life at the château—written from one friend to another.
Dear Friend,
Château Letters began with a simple wish: to send something real into the world. Something you could hold, open, and read in your own time.
Each month I write from my home in rural France about whatever the season has brought—life, creativity, the château, the garden, and all the beautiful, unfinished parts in between.
The letter is ever-evolving, just like life—and just like the château. Its details may change, but at the heart of every envelope is always a personal letter from me to you.
Bisous,
Amadeus
Typewritten reflections on life at the château, the season I am in, and the thoughts I would share across a table with a friend.
Alongside the recipe, there may be a postcard, a small artwork or another printed piece chosen for that particular month.
Something physical to open slowly, read away from a screen, and return to whenever you need a little quiet.
Always becoming
Every Château Letter includes a vegan, French-inspired recipe—a small taste of the French countryside to cook in your own home. Around it, the letter may hold a photograph, artwork or another printed fragment of the season.
The format shifts naturally with life here, but also with the practical realities of sending post around the world. International regulations can change, so I adapt the details while preserving the heart of the letter.
It is less a subscription box than an ongoing correspondence: a small archive of a life being lived, one envelope at a time.
A few useful details
Every month you receive a personal typewritten letter from me and a vegan, French-inspired recipe. Other printed pieces may join them depending on the season and what life at the château has brought.
The letter is ever-evolving, just like life—and just like the château. International postal and customs regulations also change, so I sometimes adapt the size, materials or seasonal extras to make sure the envelope can travel safely.
The project is designed to travel internationally. Postal services and restrictions vary by destination and can change; if this affects a mailing, I adapt what is enclosed and share any important update through Patreon.
After joining, add your complete and current postal address to your Patreon membership. If you move, remember to update it before the next letter is prepared.
From my home to yours
I’m Amadeus. I live in half a medieval château in the southwest of France, where I make films, tend an ever-evolving garden, cook, create, and try to notice the life happening around me.
Château Letters is the quietest and most personal part of that work. I hope yours feels like hearing from an old friend.
How it works
